On March 28, 29 and 30, the XXIII Spanish and V Ibero-American ITS Congress, organized by ITS Spain, took place in Seville. A new edition of this renowned congress dedicated to ITSs, which this year has revolved around sustainable mobility.
From the Globalvia Group, several of our colleagues have participated in these conferences to explain the different solutions that we have designed and developed to contribute to an increasingly sustainable mobility.
Thus, during the first day of this event, we have presented two interesting projects. On the one hand, Ruth Gomar, Operational Systems Manager at Globalvia and Alexandru Ionut Grama, IoT Specialist at Openvia, have presented our solution for online payment of tolls on Ruta 27, our highway in Costa Rica, which has reduced the manual validation workload from 20% to 5%.
On the other hand, Ángeles Echevarría, Managing Director of Openvia Portugal and Head of Operations of Openvia, presented the Steroid project for autonomous vehicles. It is a V2X platform to test vehicle-infrastructure communication functionalities and use cases for autonomous and connected vehicles.
Lastly, Luis Coronil, Maintenance Manager of Metro de Sevilla, brought this latest edition to a close with an interesting presentation on the growing use of the Metro de Sevilla EMV validation system among our users, highlighting the good reception it has had this system since its inception.
