Last January 20th, our Bluenest by Globalvia team celebrated a new demonstration of flight operations in conjunction with Hospital Universitario de La Paz, ENAIRE, and ITG within the context of the European U-ELCOME Project.
This flight, which took place at the Cantoblanco Hospital, was attended by experts and managers from SESAR Joint Undertaking, EUROCONTROL and the governments of Spain and Japan. Specifically, Fernando Sánchez and José Ángel Gómez from the Community of Madrid and 12 professionals from the New Energy and Industrial Technology Development Organization (NEDO), to whom our Bluenest team explained and showed how this new model of advanced air mobility can help the logistics sector.

The attendees listen to the explanations about the control software.
The event began with presentations by Azucena Rojas, Deputy Director of Management of the La Paz University Hospital, Rodrigo Benedit Pascual, from the Drone Business Development Department of ENAIRE, and José Ignacio Rodríguez, General Manager of Bluenest by Globalvia. Afterward, all attendees were directed to the flight area, where they received safety instructions and explanations about the control software used for the operation.
Despite the rainy and foggy weather conditions, Bluenest and ENAIRE simultaneously conducted two eVTOL demonstration flights, a gret milestone for everyone. These simultaneous flights have allowed us to technically test the interoperability of several U-Space service suppliers (USSP), since the Bluenest’s flight was associated with ENAIRE’s USSP and ENAIRE’s flight to Daliah, ITG’s USSP, Dynamic Airspace Reconfiguration (DAR) for the first time in Spain, live tracking with DRI (remote identification systems) and Mode S transponders*, delivery of medicines with marked class drones, and other avant garde technologies.

During flight operation.
In addition to all this, as an additional novelty, our first operation of 2025 has been fully monitored from our mobile control center, with our colleagues Rafael Higuera, Head of Technology and Darío Ares, Senior UAM UTM Programs Manager of Bluenest by Globalvia supervising each operation to guarantee its success.
This operation is part of the U-Elcome project, which aims to support the implementation of a set of U-Space services and procedures to safely and efficiently manage, coordinate and integrate drone air traffic in European airspace. This project is funded by SESAR JU (European Commission), led by Eurocontrol and ENAIRE in Spain and coordinated in Madrid by our Bluenest team.
*(Mode S complements traditional radar surveillance and enables better identification of traffic, reduces radio congestion and provides additional information to air traffic control regarding the short-term intention of aircraft).
