Promoting the well-being of the most vulnerable groups through our social impact

Corporate Social Responsibility is in our DNA and has a high level of involvement by all the people who make up Globalvia. We focus on using our resources strategically, giving back to society what we perceive from it, developing practices with a positive impact on the environment and supporting causes that benefit the most vulnerable groups. For this reason, we carry out initiatives that help people who are in a situation of inequality to have a better and more dignified life in the 6 countries where we are present. Initiatives that, if they are born and are successful in one of our areas of influence, we replicate in other Group Companies. We rely on the experience, values ​​and good work of other non-profit entities to channel our resources and guide our CSR actions. And all with one goal, to achieve a better world for everyone!

A commitment that is also reflected in one of the four strategic lines of our Strategic Sustainability Plan -SustaiMobility 2024-: “CSR to support people, communities and diversity”. A pillar that includes our purpose of positively impacting people and communities, promoting diversity and social inclusion in our operations, supply chain and in society. Thus, through concrete, realistic and ambitious objectives and actions, at Globalvia we are committed to being an agent of change in the communities in which we are present, helping their well-being and growth, with a special focus on the Sustainable Development Goals that are strategic for our business such as SDG4: Quality Education, SDG5: Gender Equality, SDG8: Decent work and economic growth, SDG9: Industry, innovation and infrastructure and SDG13: Climate Action.

At Globalvia we contribute to the development and well-being of local communities and the environment in which we operate, through our participation in various social initiatives, the promotion of corporate volunteering and our collaboration with various non-profit entities. Among all the projects and entities with which we collaborate, below we highlight some examples that have become hallmarks of Corporate Social Responsibility for all of us who make up Globalvia:

  • “With you, 1=2” >> It is the emblematic project of corporate volunteering at Globalvia Madrid, which we launched for the first time in 2013. A program in which our employees become protagonists from start to finish: first they propose an entity social, then they select and, finally, they donate to the social cause with which they want to collaborate during the two years that each edition of the project lasts. In addition, Globalvia contributes the same amount donated by employees (1=2). Thanks to this project, we have been able to help different vulnerable groups in recent years, such as people suffering from ALS (Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis), through our collaboration with the adELA Association and children awaiting adoption, through our support to the Adelias Foundation. In 2022 we have started the 5th edition of “With you, 1=2” and we are already collaborating with the Spanish Federation of Rare Diseases, which allocates the funds raised to research into this type of disease, thus contributing to improving the quality of life of patients and their families.

  • Social Sports Schools – Real Madrid Foundation >> Since 2014 we have been collaborating with the Real Madrid Foundation on a project that we are especially excited about: our Social Sports Schools in Costa Rica and Chile, countries where we are present. Through education in values ​​and sport as a tool, this program benefits children from communities at risk of social exclusion and their families, helping them improve their health and living conditions.

  • Equal opportunities with Fundación A LA PAR and Fundación PRODIS >> At Globalvia we are committed to diversity and equal opportunities in all areas. We are aware of the need to continue working to achieve a society in which we all find our place. For this reason, we are committed to the labor inclusion of people with intellectual disabilities through our usual collaboration with two entities that work for this purpose, the A LA PAR Foundation and the PRODIS Foundation.

  • L@bs4Opps, the educational innovation project of Ayuda en Acción >> During the 2022 school year, we have joined this project whose purpose is to promote schooling, reduce the digital divide and improve the nutrition of children and young people at risk of social exclusion. Specifically, our help has been aimed at improving the lives of 48 “l@bers” from three schools in disadvantaged areas in Galicia, Asturias and Alicante.

These are just some of the social projects in which we are committed and in which we are very happy to be able to collaborate, thus improving the quality of life of the most vulnerable groups and generating a positive social impact in the communities in which we are present. At Globalvia we set in motion a more connected, collaborative and sustainable society with a clear objective: to continue growing together.
