We welcome a group of students from the Real Madrid Foundation’s social sports schools
16-11-2023

Framed in our social commitment and, expressly, in our efforts to contribute to the well-being of the communities in which we are present, since 2014, we have collaborated with the Real Madrid Foundation in one of our most important CSR projects, the socio-sports schools in Costa Rich and Chile.

Through sport and education in its values, this program benefits young people at risk of social exclusion and their families, helping them improve their health and living conditions.

Every year, this program gives the most committed and responsible young people the opportunity to take a trip to Spain, often the first time they travel outside their country, to make their dream of living the Real Madrid experience come true.

During their stay in Madrid, between November 3 and 9, a group of 12 boys and girls between the ages of 12 and 17 enjoyed different activities, such as attending a football match, doing training sessions in Real Madrid’s sports city, climbing activities and a visit to the IKONO museum, among others.

On Tuesday, 7,  we received them at our offices to officially welcome them in Madrid. Javier Pérez Fortea, CEO of Globalvia, and Javier Martín Rivals, Director of Highways at Globalvia, attended a brief meeting. Both have recognized these students’ outstanding commitment, dedication, and effort and encouraged them to continue giving their best to move forward. The children, in turn, gave them a gift to thank Globalvia for the great opportunity that being able to visit Madrid and be part of the schools represents for them.

In addition to this visit, the minors have discovered more about the day-to-day life of one of our Concessions, Metros Ligeros de Madrid. They rode the subway for the first time, visited the workshops, and finally tested their skills at the head of the light rail in the simulator.

At Globalvia, we are proud to be part of this beautiful project that provides an opportunity to these minors who live in difficult situations. We especially thank our colleagues Montserrat Courrau, Director of Communication and CSR of Ruta 27, and Juan Carlos Torres, Director of Communication and CSR of Globalvia Chile, for their commitment and dedication to this project.
