We celebrate iryo’s second anniversary

Last Wednesday, November 4, iryo, the private high-speed operator owned by Trenitalia, Air Nostrum and Globalvia, celebrated its second anniversary at an event held in Metropolitano Stadium (Madrid) attended by our CEO, Javier Pérez Fortea, representing Globalvia.

Since the launch of its operations on November 25, 2022, after the railway liberalization process that began in 2019, iryo has accumulated more than 13 million passengers, an average occupancy of 73% and a market share of between 23 % and 28% in most of its corridors.

The celebration of this second anniversary has been the perfect occasion to highlight the great work carried out by the human team behind this success and who are making high speed a benchmark for quality and good work.

Currently, iryo manages 30% of the total frequencies and already connects 11 destinations: Madrid, Zaragoza, Barcelona, ​​Tarragona, Cuenca, Valencia, Alicante, Albacete, Córdoba, Seville and Málaga.

With an average occupancy of 73% on all its routes, during the months of June, July and August of this 2024, the company recorded peaks of 77%, with the most popular routes being Barcelona-Seville followed by Barcelona-Madrid.

It should be noted that, during this second year since its launch, iryo has reinforced its commitment to intermodality, through the launch of “iryo Conecta” in the month of January, to add to its services agreements with taxi companies, trains urban, parking and airlines.
