On March 17 and 18, the Conference on Digitization of Urban Mobility and the deployment of Low Emission Zones was held in the city of Oviedo (Asturias). An interesting event promoted by the City Council of Oviedo, as representative of the Network of Cities for Mobility with Low Emissions, organized by the Association of Mobility Engineers and Technicians and ITS ESPAÑA.

During these conferences, from Openvia, our technological platform we have had the opportunity to present, together with its partners, Elecnor and Infinity Netural, the innovative ONEZBE solution to control and manage low-emission urban areas (ZBE). A solution that will become essential as of January 1, 2023, when the 149 Spanish towns with more than fifty thousand inhabitants must establish specific low-emission zones in municipal terms, in accordance with Law 7/21, of May 20 , on Climate Change.

Only low-polluting vehicles may circulate in these areas, so the use of computerized systems through radars and license plate control will help optimize their management and proper use.

Through the ONEZBE solution, Openvia, as a mobility management platform, will provide a software-as-a-service (SaaS) back-office system that interprets all the processes related to the management of low-emission zones, such as statistics and reports in real time, management of exemptions and sanctions and communication between the city council and the citizen, among others. The modularity of the platform will allow flexible management of the different areas of each municipality and between municipalities.

For its part, Elecnor as an integrator of technological systems and with more than thirty years of experience in video surveillance systems and artificial vision access control, will integrate the different technological solutions, develop and apply the Intelligent Transport and Urban Mobility Systems (ITS) equipment.

Finally, Infinity Neural – North Point Solution will contribute to this alliance with advanced technology for detection, counting, analysis and predictions in real time from the analysis of images, data or sounds. Also incorporating the Neural Engine artificial intelligence engine that has official approval from the Spanish Metrology Center.

With this alliance we become one step closer to the transformation of  sustainable mobility in the cities!
