This Friday, January 12, our technology platform Openvia has signed a new collaboration agreement with the Spanish technology group GMV, with the aim of promoting NeoRoads, our initiative for the development of connected, safe and sustainable roads.
The main objective of this alliance with GMV, which has established itself as a benchmark in the field of connected vehicles and roads, is to jointly explore and develop solutions that satisfy the use cases of connected roads. To achieve this, V2X communications technology will be used at both ends of the segment, in the road infrastructure and in the vehicle, with special emphasis on connectivity technology based on 5G-V2X cellular communications.
NeoRoads aims to provide a package of services and technologies to road operators that allows them to digitalize their infrastructure, thus improving their O&M processes and adapting it to both new types of traffic, as well as the needs of final users.
In the words of Fernando Vallejo, Managing Director at Openvia: “For us, the key to success is collaboration with strategic players in our mobility and technology ecosystem. We firmly believe that this alliance with GMV will open the door for us to make great strides in our connected and smart roads, which will translate into real use cases that will have an impact on our users and society at large”.
On his side, Miguel Ángel Martínez, GMV Intelligent Transport Systems General Manager, added: “We are delighted to be working with Openvia to deliver connected vehicle and road solutions. With our combined experience and expertise, we will deliver innovative, cost-effective, and reliable solutions that meet the current needs of operators around the world”.
