Bluenest by Globalvia joins forces with Eve Air Mobility and Aerosolutions to promote Advanced Air Mobility in Costa Rica
02-07-2025

We continue to take steps with our Bluenest by Globalvia team  towards the construction of an innovative and sustainable infrastructure network for Advanced Air Mobility!

On Monday, June 30, the signing of a Letter of Intent with Eve Air Mobility (of the Brazilian aircraft manufacturer Embraer) and the U.S. firm Aerosolutions  was made public, to boost the flying taxi market in Costa Rica.

This agreement marks a strategic milestone for the region and reinforces a shared vision to provide safe, efficient and low-emission air transport solutions, fully aligned with Costa Rica’s strong commitment to sustainable tourism and environmental conservation.

This collaboration includes the acquisition of 50 electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) aircraft and will initially focus on the Pacific region, to connect airports with premium resorts and eco-friendly destinations via air routes of between 20 and 50 kilometres.

With more than three million visitors annually, Costa Rica is a leading tourist destination in Central America; however, road congestion remains a challenge. By introducing air taxi services, this initiative seeks to transform tourist and local mobility, significantly reducing travel times and relieving pressure on the road network.

Our Bluenest team will lead the design and operation of the vertiports, ensuring the integration of this new mode of transport with the land network, in synergy with our asset in the country,  Ruta 27, the main corridor to

Guanacaste. This intermodal connectivity will help deliver a seamless and high-value user travel experience.

The project is based on real-world tests that the team has been conducting since March 2024 in Guanacaste (Liberia Airport and Reserva Conchal) and integrates with Eve’s Vector urban air traffic management solution, recently presented at Airspace World in Lisbon.

In addition, together with our partners, we will organize technical workshops to address key aspects such as vertiport development, airspace integration, pilot training, certification and operational planning, laying a solid foundation for the successful deployment of AAM in the region.

In the words of José Ignacio Rodríguez, Manager of Bluenest: “We are committed to building the sustainable infrastructure of tomorrow, and our work in Costa Rica with Eve Air Mobility and Aerosolutions is an excellent example to continue advancing in our collaboration with local entities that began in March 2024 (…). By developing state-of-the-art vertiports, we are enabling safe and efficient eVTOL operations, contributing to Costa Rica’s green agenda and laying the foundation for a truly interconnected and eco-conscious future of travel.”

We congratulate to our Bluenest team for continuing to drive the future of mobility by putting people at the centre and contributing to a cleaner, faster and more sustainable transport model.
