On 10 August, a magnitude 7.4 earthquake struck south-central Colombia. The disaster did not affect our Ruta Portuaria concession, but it caused a devastating impact on Cali, Manizales, Pereira, and Chocó. In response to this humanitarian tragedy, the team led by Sandra Carbonell organized to help those affected.
In this context, our team joined forces and provided a humanitarian donation consisting of a total of 1.8 tons of non-perishable food and personal hygiene items—essential products to help address the most immediate needs of the affected families.

Ruta Portuaria made a donation of 1.85 tons of essential items and non-perishable food.
The delivery was made to the Barranquilla District Risk Management Office, at a collection center established by the Barranquilla District Mayor’s Office, from which supplies have been distributed to affected families. Furthermore, an internal campaign was launched, calling on all employees to contribute—as much as they were able—by sending essential items to the affected areas. The Barranquillita toll station was designated as a collection point, and from there, all aid has been channeled to local authorities and relief organizations.
Through this campaign, Ruta Portuaria is actively joining institutional and civic efforts to provide support to affected communities at a time when they need it most.
