After a couple of years without being able to celebrate it, the city of Seville was looking forward to its usual Feria de Sevilla with more enthusiasm than ever.
In particular, our Concession, Metro de Sevilla, has prepared for the occasion by launching the Fair Special Service, from Saturday April 30 to Sunday May 8, in which the metro has provided uninterrupted service for 9 days.
Thanks to this, Sevillians and visitors to the city have been able to travel comfortably to their destination and enjoy this great event.
Thus, throughout the Fair, Metro de Sevilla has been the means of transport chosen by 915,000 passengers, also reaching the its absolute record of demand since its launch, on Sunday, May 1, with a total of 157,923 passengers.
The volume of users registered throughout the period represents an increase of 6.28% compared to the last Fair in 2019 and only -2.92% compared to 2018,in which record demand was reached since the inauguration of Metro de Sevilla, with 942,503 users.
The week of the Fair, which has become the week with the highest demand of passengers in the whole of the year for Metro de Sevilla, has yielded an average of 101,660 users per day in this edition
These very positive data are added to those obtained during this Easter, a period in which Metro de Sevilla has transported almost 600,000 passengers, 18% more than in the same period in 2019, -and only 4% to reach the highest historical figure for this period recorded in 2018-, and reaching daily figures above 100,000 travelers on two occasions.
A trend that confirms that we are recovering the levels of demand prior to the pandemic and that, once again, positions Metro de Sevilla as the backbone of mobility in the city of Seville!
