Our Metro de Sevilla team has received a new recognition at the Global Light Rail Awards, prestigious international awards that distinguish the most innovative and outstanding initiatives in the railway sector every year.

In this edition, Metro de Sevilla has been awarded in the “Technical Innovation of the Year” category for the “Real-Time Accessibility Information for Lifts and Escalators” project, an initiative that reinforces our commitment to accessibility, innovation and continuous improvement.

This new functionality, launched in March, allows users to consult in real time, through Metro de Sevilla’s digital channels, the operating status of the lifts and escalators of Line 1 stations. In addition, it offers information on both the station of origin and destination, facilitating the planning of journeys and reducing uncertainty, especially for those people who depend to a greater extent on these systems for their mobility.

This recognition is in addition to those obtained by Metro de Sevilla in previous editions of the Global Light Rail Awards, a contest in which it has participated since 2021 and which year after year highlights the innovation capacity of our team and its constant commitment to offering an increasingly efficient, accessible and user-oriented service.
