Javier Pérez Fortea participates in AmChamSpain’s Global Trends 2024 conference

During the morning of June 11, Javier Pérez Fortea, CEO of Globalvia, participated as a speaker at the conference “Global Trends 2024: Roadmap for Attracting Investment, Talent & Innovation in a Fragmented World”, organized by AmChamSpain and attended by Julissa Reynoso, U.S. Ambassador to Spain.

This international event, now in its second edition, aims to provide a platform to analyze and discuss the most current global trends with the contributions of political and business leaders.

Throughout the day, Javier was part of the round table “The U.S. as a Destination for Spanish Investment”, along with Pedro Azagra, CEO of Avangrid , and Jorge Gil Villén, Managing Director-Global Head of Infrastructure Banking & Corporate Finance at Santander, who shared an interesting conversation moderated by Natalia Olson-Urtecho, former Advisor for Innovation and Competitiveness to President Obama.

The speakers explored the main attractions offered by the U.S market for investment by Spanish companies, such as a robust and stable economy, a business-friendly environment, and access to one of the largest consumer markets in the world. At the same time, they analyzed the challenges it poses, such as regulatory barriers, high competition, and cultural differences.

In his speech, Javier the key role that public-private collaboration plays in the country in the face of the challenge posed by the renewal of its infrastructure. Additionally, he pointed out legal security and significant investment in technology as two major incentives valued by Spanish companies for investing in the U.S.

On the other hand, Javier indicated that the heterogeneous composition of the country, with 50 states, poses a challenge for the implementation of a strategic infrastructure plan, for which Spanish companies must work on building strong relationships with the administrations.

 

An interesting day in which we have been able to hear the opinions of major business leaders.
