” Globalvia, Bird & Scoobic Urban Mobility join forces to promote sustainable mobility in the city of Seville.”
21-10-2020

With the aim of offering 100% green operations, the joint venture formed by Globalvia and Bird, which participates in the Seville electric scooter contest, joins forces with Scoobic, a leading Sevillian company in electric vehicles.

Globalvia and Bird join forces with Scoobic, a leading Sevillian company in electric vehicles to offer 100% green operations. The UTE would count on Scoobic vehicles in its operations to manage the tasks of organizing the public thoroughfare, transporting personal mobility vehicles both to the parking lots authorized by the City Council (hotspots) and to the operator’s facilities for carrying out the recharging and maintenance tasks.

Scoobic is an Andalusian company specialized in urban mobility whose mission is to solve delivery problems in the last mile. To do this, Scoobic designs, patents and manufactures its own electric vehicles; currently having 21 employees at its facilities in Seville, a number that will be expanded in 2022, once they open their new factory in Seville or Dos Hermanas

Globalvia and Bird consider that betting on the innovative and entrepreneurial ecosystem of the cities where they operate is fundamental. Fernando Vallejo, Globalvia’s Director of Innovation and Systems explains: “For us, it is vital to surround ourselves with local partners in the cities where we operate. We want to boost the local economy and be an engine for growth and employment wherever we go ”.

In the coming weeks, Seville City Council is expected to resolve the tender for the 18-month pilot project for the implementation in the city of electric scooters as a service for shared personal mobility vehicles. Each of the two companies that are selected in the contest, to which the UTE formed by Globalvia and Bird have applied, will put into service a fleet of 1,000 scooters, with authorized parking spaces, and whose benefits and availability are based on an open data operation.

The alliance between Globalvia and Bird, which Scoobic now joins, aims to be taken into account as a reference to help design the mobility of the future in Seville. The UTE understands the need to work with the Local Administration and with local partners to operate in an orderly manner, offering maximum security and with the minimum environmental impact and thus, therefore, respond in the best way to this new challenge in which the city of Seville embarks.
