This year, 2014, the forum is being held in Andorra la
Vella between 4 and 7 February, with 1,500 people expected to attend from all
over the world, including a large number of institutional
representatives.
This congress, attended by leading authorities in
Andorra, as well as the Spanish Minister of Development, Ana Pastor, offers an
opportunity to report and exchange ideas on the latest developments and
challenges related to winter roads with people in charge of road maintenance
and operation, on past, present and future research in the sector, on
meteorology and on equipment and products from all over the world.
The core topic for this year’s presentations is
“”Winter Roads in Times of Crisis””, addressing specific issues related to
road tunnels and bridges under winter conditions.
Túnel d’Envalira also arranged a technical visit to
its facilities, which was enjoyed by over 180 people. The visit included a
guided tour of the control centre and of the tunnel itself, stopping at the
evacuation gallery that was opened last year.
