Metro de Sevilla installs chargers for electric vehicles

A step forward in Globalvia’s Innovation strategy!

Metro de Sevilla is already positioned as a reference for sustainable mobility in the Andalusian city, with the installation of chargers for electric vehicles in the parking lot of the San Juan Bajo station.

This initiative, which has been carried out in collaboration with the company Cable Energía, allows for the time being the simultaneous charging of two electric vehicles with a maximum power of 22kW per outlet, although this number may be increased to 16 depending on the demand for this new service.

The energy used in the new charging spots is, like all the energy consumed by Metro de Sevilla, of 100% renewable origin and comes from the energy recovered when the trains brake, from the solar panels located on the roof of the workshops and garages or from the energy that the Concessionaire acquires from marketers who certify its 100% renewable origin.

By installing these chargers, Metro de Sevilla takes another step towards the use of clean energy in transport and thus joins the commitment of Globalvia for intermodality and sustainable mobility. This initiative is part of the innovation strategy of the Group, “Innglovation” out of which the Concessions of Autopista del Aconcagua in Chile, A23-Beira Interior in Portugal and Ruta 27 en Costa Rica.</p in Costa Rica, are already part.
